Meet The CCAA Team

CCAA Committee

CCAA is run by volunteers giving their time to help others. Each person involved in the charity has a passionate interest in helping support children with JIA and their families. We have parents, health professionals, siblings and young adults with JIA that form our group of volunteers, so they all have a personal experience with JIA. They are at the core of CCAA. It is thanks to their hard work and commitment that we are still here 30 years on, to be able to continue supporting children with JIA and their families.

Some have left and come back, some moved on and some are still with us! But one thing is for certain, each and every person that forms our committee, support and volunteer programme has brought more value to the charity over the years, than they know. It’s because of these amazing volunteers that we are still here today. Thank you.

Carl Wescott

Carl became the CCAA Chairperson in July 2017. Before this he was Vice chairperson for some time. Carl’s daughter was diagnosed with JIA at the age of four.

Sue Wescott

Sue is the CCAA secretary. She has experience in early years teaching and supports many of our families who have questions surrounding education. Her daughter was diagnosed with JIA at the age of four

Glenda Dalton

Glenda is our Vice Chair and a Physiotherapist. She is also a member of the BSPAR parents’ forum. Her daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis as a teenager.

Daniel Madge

As a JIA parent, Daniel knows the daily struggles of this disease. His family attended one of our weekends. After such a successful weekend for his family, he applied to become a CCAA committee member.

Mira Marcetic

Mira’s daughter was diagnosed with JIA. She is Treasurer for CCAA, and has been heavily involved in the developments and growth of CCAA for many years.

Richard Piper

Richard’s daughter has Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. He brings a wealth of charity leadership experience with him to CCAA as previous Director of the Roald Dahl’s Marvelous Children’s Charity.

Rhiannon Godden

Rhiannon’s daughter was diagnosed with JIA at 3 years old. She joined the CCAA as a parent rep in 2023 and joined the committee in 2024. Rhiannon is passionate about supporting the local groups and parent reps.

Other Support

CCAA Volunteers

In addition to the all the voluntary work the committee does, we are fortunate to have some great volunteers and further admin support to help run the charity. They offer additional support and help us to deliver family events we run each year.
